Your family leads
Your values, goals, and choices matter. Support should follow what is useful to you.
EmmaLea’s name is our promise to lead with compassion, to listen carefully, and to make the next step a little easier for someone else.
EmmaLea is the reason this work has a name—and a heart. The love her family carries for her is the beginning of EmmaLea Cares.
Joseph Valenzuela created this initiative in her honor, with a determination to turn love into practical care for children and families affected by trisomy 18.
Families may be finding their way after a diagnosis, raising a child, navigating difficult decisions, or living with loss. Every story deserves compassion. Every family deserves the space to choose what support feels right.
Our starting point is simple: make trustworthy resources easier to find, make room for connection, and build carefully enough to be useful.
“What would make the next few days easier?”
Your values, goals, and choices matter. Support should follow what is useful to you.
You should never need to share photos, tell your story publicly, or participate in research to feel welcome.
We share where we are today and where we hope to go. Trust grows through clarity and follow-through.
Share a useful resource. Offer your experience. Explore a future collaboration. Help us build something thoughtful, one meaningful connection at a time.
